At the turn of the century Tim Murphy bought our house and the local sawmill, and started the TC Murphy Lumber Co. still in operation today. His daughter, Anna, ended up with the family estate and ran it as a boarding house in the 1920s. She called it Homestead On The Hill and advertised “pleasant rooms and excellent food, trout fishing and good hunting.” Like the original Homestead this cabin offers pleasant rooms and the facilities to make excellent food. The décor features a stone fireplace, hand stenciled walls, antique furniture and hand quilted bed covers making this cabin cozy yet private in a lovely Adirondack setting.
