Hemlock is named for the type of bark used in the tanning process at the Wevertown tannery. Rich in tannic acid and abundant in the area at the time, hemlock bark was used to soak the hides. The spent bark could then be used for heating fuel. Seems nothing was wasted in those days. Hemlock is a cozy 2nd floor room featuring corner windows, a queen sized sleigh bed covered in a patchwork quilt and plumped with pillows, hand built wardrobe, and an ample private bath with shower.
